Cha Cha Core Exercises

This week’s focus is on the Cha Cha Cha… specifically how to be fast and precise, yet rhythmic and free. 🙂

Most of the time, dancers fall into the “gotta get everything right, so, NOTHING gets right”. Multi-tasking while dancing really doesn’t work. Instead of trying to do EVERYTHING haphazardly, you need structure so you can FOCUS.

Hey, I’m an Architect ??‍♀️, so talk about being Queen of STRUCTURE! I’m all about grouping and structuring things so that it’s super efficient to learn and apply. So, I’m gonna let you in on these 3 areas to work on, to make your Cha Cha seriously kickass:

1. Cha Cha Walks and Chasses (Locks/ triple steps)

2. Direction Changes

3. Feet & Body Rhythm (Percussive vs Fluid)

To master these, you need to know the right information for your technique, AND ways to practice the technique. Check out our Cha Cha Online Class Series – schedule below. (If no classes are showing up, that means the series is over, you can sign up for our mailing list to be notified when the next series starts.)

This series works differently than our other classes because it’s progressive over 3 weeks. You can work on a routine that we will build on week to week. and see your progress over the 3 weeks. You’ll get individual and group feedback from Tytus & Myself that you will apply right away in class, and maximize your improvements. Excited to see you then!

xx LiWen

PS:  Sunday Series is based on International style, but you’ll benefit even if you do american rhythm style. All levels.
